Mike Dean’s Super Food Store
Mike Dean’s Super Food Store is located in Windchester, ON. Mike and Gordon Dean have 2 stores, a 9 lane in Winchester and a 5 lane in Chesterville. They are the true independent grocery store buying directly from venders. When it came time to replace their POS system they had 2 main requirements, inventory control and purchasing control.

The Deans contacted AM/PM in early in 2001 to start planning their new POS system purchase. In April of 2001 they decided to purchase a PC based SMS Software System from AM/PM’s Montreal branch for both their stores. The reason they chose SMS was the purchasing power and inventory control available. The reason they chose AM/PM was the good reputation for service and support. They also wanted to deal with a company that they could count on to be here for years to come. Both stores were connected by high speed Internet, which gave the Deans real time inventory and real time reporting from both stores.

After almost 2 years of operation, the Deans had the following comment: “For the independent retailer, there is no better suited Point of Sale and Inventory Control System. We are very pleased with our SMS software and would be pleased to show you so.”

This year the Deans will be upgrading their POS software to SMS version 2 which will give them even more power to control their stores front to back.
