Fortinet Named Leader of Worldwide Unified Threat Management Market

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 11, 2012 - Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that new IDC Tracker research data positions Fortinet as the number one vendor in worldwide UTM factory revenue for Q3 2011, published on December 23, 2011. This data marks the 23rd consecutive quarter Fortinet has maintained its leadership position.

By definition, UTM security appliance products include multiple security features integrated into one device including the emerging next-generation firewall, and next-generation IPS segments. In the third quarter, Fortinet extended its overall market share as measured by revenue for UTM and achieved leadership in total units shipped in several countries. This is important to note as IDC cites UTM as one of the leading growth drivers for network security – a market IDC predicts will be worth $10.4B by 2015.

Data in the latest IDC Worldwide December 2011 Security Appliance Tracker indicated:

• Fortinet leads the market with 18.0% UTM share
• Fortinet is the overall leader in UTM factory revenue for Q3 2011
• Fortinet is the total units shipped leader in 3 of the 5 super regions tracked
