Penny Lane Software is pleased to announce that Penny Lane POS V5.1 is now certified with Global Payment’s “Semi Integrated @dvantage Vx570si” solution, also known as SoftPay for Debit & Credit processing.

SoftPay is really a standalone terminal that has been re-engineered with a serial port, which connects to the POS terminal and allows Penny Lane POS to initiate a Debit or Credit authorization request. It is called “semi-integrated” because SoftPay generates its own receipt which must be stapled to the Penny Lane receipt.

The beauty of integrating with SoftPay is that Penny Lane POS never comes into contact with the complete, unprotected cardholder information and therefore does not have to be PA-DSS certified. The SoftPay terminal is itself fully PA-DSS certified. In other words, it is PCI compliant. It is also EMV-ready, which means it supports the new chip & pin technology for credit cards.

The Penny Lane POS / SoftPay combination is the most secure method for doing integrated Debit and Credit processing available. And it comes without the hassle of PCI compliancy.
